Hip Hop Icon On Beachsand

Beachsand Inc. is organizing The Hip hop Icon TV Show. The show aims at exposing and promoting undiscovered hip hop acts.

Hip-hop culture gave birth to rap, which has over the years metamorphosed into music, grounded in the slums, ghettos and all settlements of blacks in Diaspora.

Rap music has become the mainstream music of youths the world over. Nigeria is part of this history. Auditions have been planned to hold in three zones, Lagos , Kaduna , and Port Harcourt , with a grand finale at the Indoor hall of the National Theater or Planet One entertainment Center.

The winner shall be crowned the Hip Hop Icon 2007Beachsand plans to take the competitioon through various stages including a Freestyle stage that tasks contestants on their ability to freestyle.

Stage two is the Opinion stage which stage requires contestants to rap giving their opinion on the judges (use of foul language earns an automatic disqualification).

At the third stage, contestants have to perform their favorite songs. The last and Winning stage tasks the contestants on their ability to lyrically engage one another using rap music. This eventually leads to the emergence of the winner. Again, use of swear words and cursing will not be entertined.

The Star Prize for the event is (N500, 000).Some of the proposed judges at the event include Lord of Ajasa, Yoruba lyricist and recording artiste, Blaise, Hip Hop World Awards winner of the Jaiye Aboderin Next Rated and Blast, pioneer Hausa lyricist and video director.
