Tunjila Tuajokota Believe in Winning Music Contest
The executive producer of the Tunjila Tuajokota music group, on Sunday here said this Angolan folkloric band has quality and popularity to be among the three best of this year’s “Top dos Mais Queridos” music contest, annually organised by the public RNA radio station.
Speaking to Angop, Alcas Fernandes said he has been preparing to accept any result, although he believes that it will be “unfair” if the group is not included in the three most voted acts.
“If we do not end up being among the best three it will be accepted, but I don’t believe it.
Mana Mena (song) is without a doubt one of the most sung and enjoyed this year in Angola. Thus, I believe we will win. I have information that we have received votes from all provinces, mainly from Benguela and Malanje”, he explained.
According to him, an example of this popularity is the fact that the group sold 10,000 copies of their recent compact disc “Yosso Ikuma”, in only three months, adding that two re-editions have already been done.
The Top dos Mais Queridos competition is a promotion of the state-run Angola National Radio (RNA), whose result is normally divulges on 05 October (the anniversary date of that radio station). This year’s winner will get USD 15,000, the second USD 8,000 and the third USD 5,000.
The winner of the Critics Prize will get 10,000 American dollars.
