Don Kikas, Kalibrados Travel to SA for Channel O Award
The Angolan musician Don Kikas and the rap group Kalibrados are travelling this Wednesday to South Africa, where they will participate in the “Channel O Music and Video Awards 2007″, which will happen on Thursday, in Johannesburg.
In the event, Don Kikas will compete with the video of the song “Miss You” from his latest album, in the nominations for “Best Male Video” and “Best African Southern Video”, whereas Kalibrados will be in the categories for best Duet or Group, best director and video of the year, the last two with the song “Quem Manda no Teu Block”.
Speaking to Angop, Don Kikas, who resides in Portugal, expressed his satisfaction with the event and his surprise at the nomination.
“The participation in the award is gratifying, since it is being promoted by a foreign channel- South African in this case-, a country in which Angolan music has not yet conquered a space in its market”, said the artist.
