Sebatta’s Fans Left Wanting More

LORD Fred Ssebatta’s latest album launch at Theatre La Bonita on Idd, attracted a large audience. No doubt, the fans got what they deserved for their sh20,000 entry fee.

Ssebatta and his entire Matendo Band did not only sing their Kadongo kamu hits, but also acted them out, turning the show into a spectacular musical drama.

Ssebatta’s virtuosity was more explicit as he performed the title track of his album, Gambling. Through his effective expressiveness, Ssebatta managed to bring out the messages of his song, which depicts the effects of deception and corruption.

He also treated contemporary family/socio-economic and political problems through songs like Bamuly’asooka (those who eat the first born), Circus and Teriba Ddogo (not witchcraft).

During the show, Ssebatta depicted himself as a sharp communicator, sensational actor and shrewd teacher of morality.

His concert also carried a mark of decency in dress and language. But for all its good points, some fans grumbled that it should have ended at midnight, not 11:00pm.
