Nikoshwa Establishes Fan Base in Country
HE was born and raised in Uganda, but he took the Rwandan music industry by storm. Mako Nikoshwa became a superstar in Rwanda when he released his debut album, Agaseko in 2005.
Until now, the title track, Agaseko (your smile) still sounds new.
This year, Nikoshwa is a contender for the honours of the hottest male artiste from Rwanda, in the Pearl of Africa Music Awards.
After Agaseko, hits like Ndi Omusumba, and Hora followed, proof that his career had grown. His latest single, Mujaane, has scaled up the FM radio count-downs in Kigali.
The song has also been included on play lists of local radio stations in Uganda.
Nikoshwa is determined to establish a fan base in Uganda.
Recently, he started Kinyarwanda Nite at Blue Africa Bar on Crested Towers, which happens every last Sunday of the month.
The event features some of the biggest names in the Rwandan music industry.
