“Jovens Do Prenda” Records New Album

Angolan music group “Jovens do Prenda” will enter the studios Wednesday to record their fourth album, the band’s artistic director Francisco Miguel Antonio “Chico Montenegro” told ANGOP in Lubango (Huíla province), Chico Monte Negro stated that the album with 12 tracks will be interpreted in Kimbundu and Portuguese. Usd 40,000 is the amount for the project.

He stressed that the recordings whose conclusion are expected to happen in January 2008, are to take place at Ciclone-Produções de Quinto Namachine and Beto Max studios, in Luanda, and arranged in Madrid, Spain.

Social and economic aspects, moral and civic education of Angolan population are themes that Jovens do Prenda lyrics portray in this new album, whose style include Semba, Kilapanga, Zouk, Rumba, Bolero and Slow.

Jovens do Prenda band, made up of 12 members, was founded in 1968, Luanda.

The band launched its first album in 1982, called “Mutidi”(widow), the second in 1992 “Samba-Samba” and the third “Kudicola-kwetu” in 2003.
